From 4 to 8 May 2026, the Teacher Training Institute of Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania hosted an 11-member delegation from the Department of Technical Education of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Budapesti Műszaki és Gazdaságtudományi Egyetem/BME). The visit aimed to strengthen professional ties between the two institutions and lay the foundations for future research cooperation.

The programme in Târgu Mureș focused on current challenges in engineering pedagogy and teacher education, with particular attention to educational technologies and methodological innovation. The meeting marked an important step towards long-term professional and academic cooperation.

Plant Biology Symposium with MATE Researchers
Students and faculty members of our university gained insight into the molecular stress responses of plants and the latest research in plant biology on 23 September, when researchers from the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) visited our Faculty of Life Sciences and Sports in Sfântu Gheorghe.

In 2025, for the 28th time, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences announced its call for the Teacher–Researcher Award. In the field of mathematics and natural sciences, the award was granted to Dr. AMBRUS Tünde, assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics, Socio-Human Sciences and Engineering in Miercurea Ciuc.

Associate Professor URÁK István was the arachnology expert of the international research team studying chemoautotrophy-based cave ecosystems, which uncovered the largest spider web known to date.
