Social Sciences Research Centre - Research – Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania

The Social Sciences Research Centre has the mission of conducting specialized studies and research, either on its own initiative or commissioned by institutions and legal or private entities from Romania or abroad.

In recent years, within the broad field of political science and international relations, as a result of the department’s research activities, several general research themes have crystallized:

• the past, present, and future of the Hungarian community in Transylvania: demographic changes, political life, prospects for achieving autonomy and linguistic rights, culture, and education policies;
• local history and cultural heritage;
• international relations and foreign policy analysis: global political relations, current political, geopolitical, and security events;
• EU policies, especially agricultural policy: development of the agricultural sector and the use of European rural development subsidies in Romania.
